Business has tripled despite a recession, said JTB Clothing Services owner Jamie Oddy and that has led to the recent opening of her new store in Abbotsford.

"Because we've been around for almost eight years already, we've got a steady clientele so if we don't have walk-ins coming in we're getting e-mail orders constantly," said Oddy, who started her business out of her basement.

JTB Clothing Services provides school uniforms, corporate wear as well as ice hockey apparel that will eventually include the Abbotsford Heat to go along with the Abbotsford Minor Hockey Hawks and Aldergrove Minor Hockey Bruins sports wear is already on the shelves.

The clothing store also sells Firstar Sports Inc. apparel such as Coolskin and Warmskin performance sportswear for men and women. But the success of her company hinges on costumer service, said Oddy.

"People come to me for that reason," she said.

"If they order something they know they're going to get it on time and if they're not going to get it on time, they're told right from the very beginning and there are no hidden values in that.

"My husband is a great supporter of that and my kids . . . whenever we need to get something done and it's a rush, everyone pitches in. It is a real family business."

Jamie Oddy says her JTB Clothing Services business has been booming and she opened a new store at 33271 South Fraser Way in Abbotsford to handle the extra demand from customers.

Oddy, who admitted her family is "all wrapped up in hockey," said her company also provides embroidery for sports enthusiasts and organized teams, allowing people to get names and numbers put on the back of their hockey jerseys.
